Paste Special¶
Paste values¶
Only the calculated result of a formula entered in a cell can be pasted.
The copied cells will not be formatted and will be displayed according to the format set in the destination cell.
- Copy the target cell.
- After selecting the cells to paste, right-click and select 'Paste Values' from the 'Paste Special' menu.
- Only the results of the calculation will be pasted into the cell, as shown below.
Tip
- If a cell with an input control (CHECK, LIST, or BUTTON, etc.) is copied and pasted with a value, it will be the value of that function (true/false for CHECK).
- If a cell containing a graph is copied and pasted with values, it will be blank.
Paste the formulas¶
Only formulas entered in a cell can be pasted.
The copied cells will not be formatted and will be displayed according to the format set in the destination cell.
- Copy the target cell.
- After selecting the cells to paste, right-click and select 'Paste Formulas' from the 'Paste Special' menu.
- Only the formulas will be pasted into the cell, as shown below.
Tip
If a formula has a cell reference, it is changed to a relative reference as in normal pasting, but not to an absolute reference.
